Colors of Classical Music
Colors of Classical Music is a community dedicated to sharing the stories and experiences of folks identifying as Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) in classical music to inspire hope, serve as a resource, and look towards a more equitable, inclusive, and diverse future in this field.
For too long, the “Western Classical Canon” has upheld a false, single-sided view of what this music is, who belongs here, and what it looks like to be part of the classical music world. This ends now.
Classical Music Is For Every Body.
Any BIPOC-identifying folks are welcome to submit stories to the page.
You can read more about CoCM in a recent interview on I Care If You Listen.
